Munich, Germany

Munich was our last stop in Germany….as if we hadn’t already had our fill of Hefeweizens and Dunkel beer….Munich is full of some of the best (and oldest) breweries in the world. Augustiner, Hacker-Pschorr, Hofbräu, Löwenbräu, Paulaner, and Spaten are the main six breweries located in Munich.

Outside of Munich about 30 minutes, is the oldest brewery in the world, Weihenstephan Brewery which has been brewing since 1040. We made it a point to stop here for Syd’s birthday!

We also made a point to go and watch the Glockenspiel. It goes off twice a day and always seemed to bring a crowd around the main square. It shows two different historical plays and bells go off basically the whole time. We grabbed a coffee and stood and watched and can check that off our bucket list!
