Prague, Czech Republic

Back across the pond we go!

This time to Prague, Vienna, & Budapest!

Our first stop was Prague, a city that effortlessly weaves together centuries of history with its architecture, cobble stone streets, and cultural heritage.

A stroll across the iconic Charles Bridge is a must-do while in Prague. This old bridge spans the Vlatava River and connects Old Town with Lesser Town and provides great views of the city. Just across the bridge and up the hill, is Prague Castle which is the largest ancient castle complex in the world. It’s not like a typical castle, its really more of a city in and of itself.

Food wise, we quickly realized that chimney cakes (Trdelniks) are our new fav dessert. It’s like an ice cream cone a bit but the cone is a fried cake. Writing this is making me wish I had one right now….

A few other quick highlights of the trip was the John Lennon wall which symbolizes freedom of speech and covered with Lennon’s quotes, Beatles lyrics, and art.

We also visited an Illusion Art Museum which isn’t a typical must-see but we really enjoyed it! We’ve been to many traditional art museums but none like this one where you can become a part of the art!

Lastly, Syd discovered that she likes Czech Pilsners and the OG pilsner is Pilsner Urquell which we made sure to find at many of the bars and restaurants we stopped at. They even recently opened up a Pilsner Urquell Brewery experience talking about the history of the beer and how its made. We enjoyed it and now just need to find this beer on draught in the US!
