In 2016, we hadn’t heard of Tybee Island. By 2017, it became our most special destination. It’s where we got married!
Some background on this… I had already proposed and we knew we wanted a destination wedding. My family had mentioned they were planning a vacation to either Gulf Shores or Tybee Island. I knew it would be hard for them to make 2 beach trips that summer, so we decided to persuade them to choose Tybee while we quickly needed to schedule our wedding festivities. We couldn’t really say anything because nothing was definitive yet, but once everything was booked we let everyone know that we’re getting married in Tybee!
Things couldn’t have turned out any better. Sure, a July beach wedding in Georgia was a bit of a scorcher but the clouds came and we had a nice breeze right in time for the ceremony.
It was great having our closest family members all there and we couldn’t wait to return to Tybee! That’s what we did in 2020.
We hit up the beach and of course, Wet Willie’s on numerous occasions for some adult slushie’s. I mean, its on the way to and from the beach so 2 stops there just made sense!
