Puerto Vallarta, Mexico

Technically, we were in Nuevo Vallarta, just outside of Puerto Vallarta. We stayed in a Dreams Resort and really enjoyed it. We’ve stayed in Secrets Resorts previously and they are both in the same umbrella of resorts.

We had our own hot tub on the balcony which was great! The pool itself was oddly cold so I didn’t get in it too much. It wasn’t until the last day that we realized they had a heated pool. Makes sense because most people were in that one.

We have a bit of a routine at all inclusives: wake up early, grab a coffee, walk the beach, then start day drinking with a Mimosa by 10am. We’re usually the first to eat dinner around 5-6pm, then in bed by like 9-10pm.

On our beach walks here in Puerto Vallarta, we encountered a bunch of baby turtles trying to make their way to the ocean. I think we saw them every single day and it made our walks that much more enjoyable. The Sierra Padre Mountains were a breath-taking backdrop for our beach walks. We loved how different the landscape was compared to our trips to the East Coast of Mexico.
